Corporate Office
For over 80 years Millane Nurseries has been located at 604 Main Street in Cromwell. Neal A. Millane, Sr. started as a small Tree Service in New Haven in 1913, moved to Middletown in 1918, helped found the CT Tree Protective Association in the early 1920's and was issued Arborist License #1. He opened the Main Street nursery in Cromwell in 1923, and with his three brothers performed substantial Landscaping and Arboriculture mainly from New York City (Central Park) to New Haven (Yale) to Middletown (Wesleyan) to Hartford (the Capitol Building Grounds, Bushnell Park and Trinity College) to Boston (Harvard).

After WWII Neal's son Connie added substantial Utility R.O.W. Line Clearing work and extensive Highway Landscaping (including planting the original Merit Pkwy and also parts of I-91, I-95, I-84, CT-9, CT-7, CT-8, CT-384, CT-2) through the 1950's, 60's and 70's. In the 1970's grandsons Michael and Neal III, along with Michael's wife Laura and in 1981 Glenn Sliker, expanded the Wholesale Nursery and Retail Garden Center to more resemble the current business. In the 1980s the tree service and lawn care divisions were closed in order to focus more on Wholesale and Retail Sales.
